Hi, my name is Gail Wright Lee and I am the owner of Music Spectrum School for the Arts. I grew up in Rochester, NY, a city that loves the arts, where I eventually studied Clarinet at Eastman School of Music. Later I switched to Arts Administration, working for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 1978, my family moved to Northern Virginia. Since then, I have helped my husband, ... more Grandmaster H.K. Lee, run our TaeKwonDo school, the original school in Western Fairfax County. In 1999, as a result of listening to the needs of the parents, we established the original Transported After School Martial Arts program in the area.

Great program! But after raising our own three children, I knew the combination of Music and Martial Arts was even greater for maximizing a child's potential, mentally, physically and emotionally. I realized that what Herndon and Reston needed was a first-rate music school, preferably one with visual arts and dance instruction as well.

The vision came to me to provide quality instruction in all these most essential activities in one convenient location. With my background in Music, in Arts Management, and with the experience I had from running a school for 35+ years, the time had come to open Music Spectrum School for the Arts!

Established in September 2013, Music Spectrum is a 4,000+ square ft. stand-alone music and arts school serving children and adults in the general public as well as the after school students at our TaeKwonDo school. less
